Still oozing cool twelve years after release, I may even go so far as to call it a Nineties classic?

Orphan (2009)
Not quite as classic as evil child mainstays The Omen or The Exorcist, Orphan still offers some deliciously dark undertones amidst a horror by numbers narrative. This could do with losing 20 minutes, but if you like this evil kid genre, it won't disappoint.

Observe and Report (2009)
Very average and seemed long despite the sub 90 minutes runtime.

One dimensional characters make for a bland comedy. Give this a miss.

El Orfanato (2007) aka "The Orphanage"
Goose bumps and ghosts make this a chilling tale, but not one without compassion. I'd recommend watching it now before the Hollywood remake..

Very well directed 'ghost story' made for grown-ups. Some nice moments of tension compliment this style of storytelling. Recommended.

Oldboy (2003)
Oldboy is the perfect example of the exciting and brave cinema coming out of Asia in recent years, so much so that another Hollywood remake is tentatively in the pipeline (see The Departed, The Ring etc..). A stunning tale of vengeance that gets inside your brain - and then deals a real hammer blow to the senses..

The Other Boelyn Girl (2008)
"Tonight" whispers Henry VIII in a chat up line guys everywhere will wish they could emulate with as much success. Any sense of fun quickly disperses however, in an unpleasant on screen soup of child birth scenes and family hatred. A touching film in places, but it doesn't quite decide what it wants to be.
